College Governance and Organization
Stanford University is a trust with corporate forces under the laws of the State of California. The college is an assessment absolved substance under area 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. Under the procurements of the Founding Grant, the Board of Trustees (with a most extreme enrollment of 38) is overseer of the gift and every one of the properties of Stanford University. The board regulates the contributed stores, sets the yearly spending plan and decides approaches for operation and control of the college. Among the forces given to the trustees by the Founding Grant is the ability to select a president. Stanford Health Care, beforehand known as Stanford Hospital and Clinics, and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford, are philanthropic California enterprises. They are independent from the college and from each other.
